Happiness = Fun

What is my belief of Happiness?

I believe that happiness is a state of being.  One that is sometimes harder for people to find.  To reach.  It is something that we should stretch to achieve even though it is not always easy and, truthfully, is quite illusive.  I have spent many years lost in the darkness.  Searching, looking for something.  The something, I feel, is happiness.

How do we reach it?

Recently it has been brought to my attention that fun is the way to reach and achieve happiness, which makes sense to me.  Finding happiness by itself is too hard and sometimes can seem overwhelming.  Too great a task.

Find your happiness.  Find your joy.

Those are terrifying statements, especially when someone is depressed.  If it was just that easy.  They want to be happy, I want to be happy, but sometimes the chemicals are stopping it.  However, if we look at it another way, if we look at it as finding something fun it seems easier.  Fun doesn’t seem as scary.  Fun seems small and maybe achievable.  Find something, anything to hold onto and grasp.  Something that makes you feel warm and then look for the fun.  A game, a song, it could be as small or as easy as that.  Fun IS different for each of us.  Fun can be any distraction we have in life and it can be our saving grace.  Even if fun is watching TV shows we enjoy as we try to pull ourselves back to the world to do more it is a little fun in the darkness.

If you find a little bit of fun it can lead to happiness.  It may be small sparks of it in the darkness, but it is there to give us hope and hope is something that can never be taken for granted.  Fun is little sparks of happiness in an unassuming wrapper.

It’s how I’m surviving at least.  Finding some fun.

Spring Fling

I am slowly feeling spring easing in
It’s creeping slowly into my fibers,
through my bones
and right to my very core.
The sun stays out longer,
it welcomes me
and dares me to play.
Cautiously I peek outside,
could it be?
Spring?

This winter was very hard.  I slipped and battled with my body and my anxieties.  My depression fought me and while it won some battles I won the war.  Hopefully this Spring will bring everyone happiness and joy.  Warmth in the sun, flowers to smell and things that remind us of happier times.  Remember to clutch to things that make you happy on days when you feel the lowest.  Never give up on the battle.  You are not alone.

Not sure people realize

an extra hour sleep may be grand thing
but confuses the medication times
making the body upset

I didn’t know at first, but Ebates lets you get money back when you buy music/movies at iTunes.  That was awesome to find out.  I knew other shops and stuff, but the iTunes one was huge for me as it helps me relax when I hurt too much to do anything else.  It’s nice to have when you are shopping and trying to save money when dealing with medication prices.  It’s a good way to save money.

Mini Poem: Fears in a Crowd

walking outside they brushes into me
i wince trying not to yelp in pain
an accident that never mattered before
now is a painful experience

Mini poem: frozen by anxiety

stars light up the sky at night
showing us the way through darkness
throughout centuries they’ve guided
but still I cannot move

19 Struggles Of Having An Outgoing Personality But Actually Being Introverted

19 Struggles Of Having An Outgoing Personality But Actually Being Introverted.

A relative of mine had this article on their social media and I, thankfully, took the time to read it.  I really enjoyed Christian Marcus Lyons’ choice of topic and was glad that they took the time to cover what it was about and have been glad that people have been responsive to this as an actual possibility because it is true.

The article started by explaining how there are not just simply two kinds of people in the world: Introverted and extroverted.  There are also people who fall along the spectrum between the two who may behave one way, but act the other at times.  I happen to be one of those people who acts very extroverted at times, but who really is introverted.

For me, at least, I think  a lot of it is how I deal with my anxiety issues.  I have noticed the more anxious I get the more I tend to ‘perform’ or tend to be ‘larger than life’ and out going.   It’s when I feel ‘on’.  I truthfully find it to be exhausting.

As the article continued there was a link to another article.  The link went to another webpage, but the article was not clearly visible.  [Maybe it was just me and my Fibro Fog, but I didn’t see it.  (I did enjoy what I found on the other webpage though so that was a plus).]

The list had 19 examples, though there are surely more, of how you can be extroverted and then introverted at the same time.  Or how once you have been extroverted you then need to recover from it by being introverted.  These I felt were important because it explains how you might be able to act like the life of the party or act okay when you are out, but then need to shut yourself away for a time.  I liked what he had there.  The only thing I would have changed was at the end he didn’t bring it back together to close it.  He just ended it at the end of the list.  I would have tied it in.

Over all, I found that Lyons’ article was well worth it.  The detractions were easily overlooked when compared to the information that was supplied.  He did an excellent job and I would recommend it to others.  Enjoy!
